In God’s Word we find many promises for marriage, nevertheless they’re promises of guidance. Most of them will show us what to do in order to produce the intended result of marital bliss. God doesn’t promise to change our husbands and make them the men we think they should be, nor does He promise to make them mow the lawn every other weekend.
What God promises is that if we give ourselves in service and submission, we will sow the seeds that will create a good marriage. It takes work and effort, also selfless sacrifice. But it’s important to always keep in mind that agape love does not seek its own, but the good of the other. When too people go into marriage with that attitude, only good can come of it.- No one should get married unless they have found someone to whom they are willing to give their life in service.
Be the change you want to see, act and treat your spouse the way you would like to be treated. Let not forget that little details make the difference, kind words, smile and gentleness make a whole world of difference. I really loved and recommend “The Love Dare”- by Alex and Stephen Kendric and “The 5 love languages” by Gary Chapman- they taught me to see my husband´s needs with a different perspective.
“A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband…” Proverbs 12:4
